Outside the village you immediately walk into nature. You walk past wet marshes with alder and willow thickets, through oak forests and meadows with wooded edges. This is the heart of Grenspark Kempen-Broek. You will also pass the Broekmolen, a beautiful undershot water mill from 1738 that is located on the Abeek.

You walk on, along the Belgian border. Kempen-Broek is located on the northeastern edge of the Kempens Plateau. Here, the confluence of a number of streams created a wet and swampy valley, such as in the Stramprooierbroek. This is the quietest spot in the area. You can interrupt the route at restaurant Nieuw Vosseven Naturally Located. At Molen De Nijverheid, back in Stramproy, grain is still ground on a voluntary basis: when the blades turn you can visit the mill!
