Wonderful touring through the dunes and the beautiful Westland. Get off along the way in the old Maassluis and Maasland!

Sand Engine Monster
You will start today in cozy Kijkduin. From here you immediately cycle along the coast to Monster, straight through the dunes. You are immediately assured of a holiday feeling! In the sea you can sometimes see the sand motor, which should ensure that the beaches here become wider and do not get eroded.

Maassluis
Maassluis arose around 1340 as a small settlement, which mainly lived from fishing. In the nineteenth century, Maassluis became world famous for its towage company and its activities on the water expanded to ship salvage, for example. The National Towage Museum can still be found in the town, but a company has also settled there that has been providing information services in and around the port of Rotterdam since 1872. You cycle back via Maasland, a picturesque mining village that is centuries old.

Het Sonnetje has been an established name in Maasland since 1992. What once started with just pancakes with the farm's own milk has grown into much more! The renewed'Sonnetje pancake & zo\\\' still means delicious pancakes, but it also stands for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also for those who prefer something other than a pancake! A nice starting point on the main road between Maassluis and the beautiful Maasland. Perfect as a base for cycling and walking routes, for example through the Broekpolder!
