On to Maasmechelen
The starting point of this route is on the edge of Stokkem. You can contact Maascentrum De Wissen/Dilsen-Stokkem Tourism Department for more information about the area. Then it is time to set off to Dilsen and on to Maasmechelen. You cycle along the edge of the Dornerheide and other beautiful green areas. In Maasmechelen you can take a break and get off your bike for a while to view the center. You can also enjoy shopping in the shopping centers of Maasmechelen.
Resting at De Wissen
From Maasmechelen you cycle a bit along the course of the Maas. At Uikhoven you cross the Maas with a ferry to the Dutch Geulle aan de Maas. Then you cycle along the Juliana Canal to Berg aan de Maas. At Grevenbicht you cross the Maas back into Belgium. You ultimately end your cycle tour back on the outskirts of Stokkem. Stop by Horeca/hotel De Wissen for a tasty meal or a drink.
Juliana Canal
The Juliana Canal was constructed between Borgharen and Maasbracht between 1925 and 1934. In this region the Meuse meanders strongly, making the river difficult to navigate for ships. Shipping therefore takes place via the Juliana Canal, east of the Grensmaas. If you like ships, take a break at the canal and admire all the beautiful things that sail past here.

Maascentrum De Wissen/Tourism Department Dilsen-Stokkem is a unique starting point for exploring the Meuse valley.
