A beautiful varied cycling route, through the water (yes, you read that correctly!), past the Bokrijk Open Air Museum and via the nice city of Genk through the beautiful nature reserves of the Limburg Kempen.

Bokrijk Open Air Museum
After informing yourself well at VVV-Tourisme Houthalen-Helchteren, you drive through forests and meadows to Bokrijk, which is known as an open-air museum. Through the ponds behind the domain you cycle between the ponds on a sunken cycle path. This project is called 'Cycling through the water', a fun experience! You see the water level at eye level. From the ponds you can now enjoy a beautiful view of the old buildings of the open-air museum. The museum is more than worth a visit.

City of Genk
Genk offers you a combination of cultural history and extensive nature reserves. Thanks to the coal mines, the Limburg city grew into one of the most important industrial cities in Flanders. Now you can shop extensively and dine there. Genk is surrounded by a quiet, almost untouched landscape. As early as the nineteenth century, rich people from Brussels and Ghent, as well as artists and writers, settled here to be vitalized and inspired by the landscape. Today, cyclists have taken their place!
