What a varied route! You drive through the heart of historic The Hague to the dunes and also cycle a long way along the beach. Holiday feeling at its best.
The Hague
Your route starts with a cup of coffee at Het Rieten Dak, just outside Delft. Under the thatched roof you will find a modern, attractively decorated gift shop. From here you set course for The Hague. You drive into the center along the Waterwijk and through the Schipperskwartier. You drive along the Spui, past the Nieuwe Kerk and pass the Binnenhof, which has been the center of Dutch politics for centuries. The adjacent Hofvijver is a picture!
Dunes
Then you cycle a long way through the dunes, where you enjoy the silence and nature. Yes, this is also part of The Hague! On either side of Kijkduin you can park your bike in numerous places and have a drink or something to eat in a beach pavilion. Just before Monster you turn towards Delft again. A little later you drive through the Haagse Uithof and Madestein to the Elsenburgerbos, a beautiful city park with steep paths, lawns and rolling hills.
