The Waterline Museum with a replica of a Roman watchtower; a play forest and art project in Nieuw Wulven: there is a lot to experience here! A nice route to walk with children.
Waterline Museum
Your route starts at Fruit Farm and Countryside Shop De Achterdijk. Stock up on some fresh fruit for on the go! Soon you will walk to Fort Vechten, the second largest fort in the New Dutch Waterline. The Waterline Museum is located in the fort, where you can learn all about the use of water as a weapon. Just outside the fort is a replica of a Roman watchtower: in Roman times a castellum stood here.
New Wolves
This route is also very nice with children. Further on you walk through the forest Nieuw Wulven, with a Speelbos. Here children are allowed to go off the paths and drag branches, build huts and play around the water. An art project has also been realized in the forest. The mask at the entrance on the Binnenweg is particularly striking and special. The discovery of a mask that the Romans used in the theater was the source of inspiration for this design.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
