Description
A beautiful route through the beautiful meandering valley of the Dommel near the nice town of Boxtel. Along the way you will discover a special museum about the Second World War.
Vressels Bos
First you cycle past the Vressels Bos. It is now difficult to imagine that in the last century there was hardly a tree to be seen here. The area then consisted mainly of sand drifts and heathlands. The forest was planted in the 1920s and now you will find many Scots pine, oak and beech.
Liberating Wings
Along the way, be sure to stop at the Liberating Wings Museum, dedicated to the Second World War. You can, among other things, take a simulation flight in a war plane. A large part of the museum is about Operation Market Garden, which ultimately led to the liberation of the Netherlands. You cycle back to your starting point via cozy Boxtel and Sint Oedenrode, along the beautifully meandering Dommel. What a wonderfully varied route through authentic Brabant!
