Walking through Landsmeer and 't Twiske

Landsmeer is a beautiful village in the Waterland, a region just above Amsterdam. Put on your walking shoes and come and enjoy the natural beauty and cultural history.

Gretel Tump
The route starts at Café de Driesprong. From here you walk into the beautiful Dorpsstraat. You can see a few monumental buildings here, such as eighteenth and nineteenth-century houses. The Dutch Reformed Church is a picture, it dates from 1853. On the edge of the village you pass the beautiful building of the Grietje Tump Museum. This museum breathes the romantic atmosphere of the past century.

\\\'t Twiske
In the polder you walk through a low moor area of extensive grasslands, ditches and reed beds. You pass a war memorial consisting of two propeller blades from a British Vickers-Wellington bomber that crashed in 1941. Further on you walk into't Twiske, a nature and recreation area that was created, among other things, by peat extraction. You walk here on a gently sloping terrain of forest and reed lands.
