Description
Gems in Noordwijk
At the beginning of this route you walk on the boulevard on the edge of the Noordwijk beach. Get a breath of fresh air and admire the view over the sea. The boulevard is named after the Belgian Queen Astrid, who spent her holidays here with her family in the years before the Second World War. You then continue your journey through the center of Noordwijk. After about 2.5 kilometers of walking you will reach'De Stenenbank\\\', a bench that was placed in honor of the jubilee of the then mayor Van Berckel. A little further on you will pass the Wilhelminahofje, the Grote or St. Jeroenskerk and Hof van Holland, the Lindenplein and the Town Hall.
The last bit
In the last part of the route you will pass the Water Tower and a monument to the poet Albert Verweij. This famous poet lived until his death in 1937 in a characteristic villa opposite the monument. At the end of the route you will arrive at Museum Noordwijk.
Strolling around the beach
After your tour, take some time to stroll around on the beach. In the summer you can settle here at one of the beach bars, but it is also wonderful here during the rest of the year. In the dunes around the beach you will find all kinds of beautiful villas and hotels that were built between the years 1900 and 1945.
