Around Bocholt you can enjoy cycling through the many extensive nature reserves of Grenspark Kempen-Broek. In the town itself you can enjoy the Limburg friendliness and historical sights.
Kolisbos
The route starts at Tourism Bocholt. Nearby is the old St. Laurentius Church, a late Gothic cruciform basilica with a fifteenth-century tower made of marlstone. You drive along the leafy canal to Berghei, a forest where you can smell the fresh scent of conifers. The adjacent Kolisbos and the more distant Goolderheide are two former heathlands that are mainly planted with Scots pine. How wonderfully quiet it is here!
Tungelerbeek
From Bocholt to Stramproy you drive through a mosaic of arable fields and grasslands, here and there you see a forest. Just before junction 45 you can grab a bench and enjoy the view over the Tungelerbeek valley. Further on you cycle through the Tungelerwallen nature reserve, followed by the forests of Altweerterheide, the Ijzeren Man and the Laurabossen. Kempen-Broek Border Park is so beautiful! At Tourism Bocholt you can learn more about this beautiful region.
