Abeek
The route starts at Hotel-Restaurant-Forelvisserij De Watermolen. Here you can enjoy a cozy terrace, before you drive into the countryside. This area is sparsely populated, on the car-free roads it is wonderful to make kilometers between the fields and grasslands and the small forests. You cross the Abeek twice, get off here to enjoy the view over the idyllic stream valley.
Wijffelterbroek
Just over the border you cycle through the Wijffelterbroek, a small swamp forest surrounded by flowery wet meadows. A little later you cycle over a winding path through the Laurabossen and cross the border again. In Belgium you cycle through a number of adjacent nature reserves, such as the Lozerheide, the Berghei and the Kolisbos. Cycling through the forests for many kilometres, that is wonderful cycling!
