Authentic villages in South Limburg and the Voerstreek

This route takes you through some real gems of villages in South Limburg and the Belgian Voerstreek. The rolling green is the perfect setting for all that beauty.

Your route starts at Café Quanten, in the nice village of Mheer. Mheer was once declared one of the ten most beautiful villages in the Netherlands. For example, you will see the seventeenth-century Sint-Lambertus church, with the fourteenth-century Kasteel van Mheer behind it. Then you set off to discover the South Limburg Hill Country. First you make a loop to Banholt and Terhorst after which you return to Mheer for a bite to eat or a drink.

Noorbeek
Then you walk on to the beautiful Noorbeek, an old town with a protected village view. Through the rolling Limburg countryside you walk to the picturesque village of 's Gravenvoeren. Walk through the village, because this ribbon village along the river Voer is a picture with the numerous footbridges over the water. The church, the rectory and several farms date from the 18th century. Then you quickly walk through the green Mheer again.
