Authentic villages in South Limburg and the Voer region

This route takes you through some real gems of villages in South Limburg and the Belgian Voer region. The rolling greenery is the perfect setting for all that beauty.

Mheer
Your route starts at Café Quanten, in the nice village of Mheer. Mheer was once voted one of the ten most beautiful villages in the Netherlands. For example, you will see the seventeenth-century St. Lambertus Church, with the fourteenth-century Mheer Castle behind it. Then you set off to discover the South Limburg Hills. First you make a loop to Banholt and Terhorst, after which you return to Mheer for a snack or a drink.

Noorbeek
Then you walk further to beautiful Noorbeek, an old town with a protected village view. You walk through the rolling Limburg countryside to the picturesque village of's Gravenvoer. Take a walk through the village, because this ribbon village along the Voer river is a picture perfect with the numerous footbridges over the water. The church, the parsonage and several farms date from the 18th century. You then quickly walk through the greenery back into Mheer.
