Walking through the Schoorlse Duinen

This route takes you through one of the most beautiful dune areas in Europe: the Schoorlse Duinen. Put on your walking shoes for a tour full of variety and tranquility in the widest and highest dunes in the Netherlands. The route starts at De Duinerij. From the terrace you can walk straight into the dunes of Schoorl. With more than 60 kilometers of hiking trails, you can immerse yourself in a unique landscape here. The Schoorlse Duinen is beautiful in every season. In the spring, for example, you can enjoy many blooming orchids. With a bit of luck you will hear a pheasant or a nightjar or see a sand lizard scurrying between the dunes. The route leads you over sloping and winding paths through the vast forests. It makes your walk wonderfully varied. After your trip it's time for a terrace at De Duinerij.
