Park Lingezegen is a new large landscape park between Arnhem and Nijmegen. This route takes you through two sub-areas for a wonderfully quiet and varied walk.
You start the route in De Park, the sub-area named after the former castle De Parck. The Notenlaan once formed the driveway of this castle. This sub-area looks very much like a city park. You walk through a mosaic of avenues, areas of forest and open areas. This landscape is bisected by the striking Roman Ribbon, a wide zone laid out with watercourses and chestnut trees.
The Water Kingdom
The second part of the route takes you through the Het Waterrijk sub-area. As the name suggests, the focus here is on water. You walk along the Rijkerswoerdse Plassen that were created by sand extraction in the late 1970s. It is wonderfully quiet to walk here. Ideal for clearing your head and charging the battery. Via the De Park sub-area you come back to the starting point in Park Lingezegen. Time for a coffee with something sweet!
