Gelderland 6 | Border conflicts and fraternal quarrels: Deventer – De Wippert

The route starts in the Overijssel city of Deventer and runs from there in a southeasterly direction to the Gelderland municipality of Lochem. Traditionally there were a large number of castles in this region, many of which were destroyed by war. Others were transformed into attractive country estates from the seventeenth century onwards. The route crosses the provincial border a number of times.
