Description
This route leads you through the eastern part of the Veluwezoom. The varied landscapes make this part of the Netherlands very attractive. You cycle along the IJssel and associated floodplains, but you also encounter height differences and beautiful heathlands in the Veluwezoom National Park. The main castles and estates that you pass during this cycle route are the privately inhabited Biljoen Castle in Velp, Middachten Estate in De Steeg en Park and Rosendael Castle in Rozendaal. Both Landgoed Middachten and Rosendael Park and Castle have beautiful gardens where you can take a lovely walk during the summer months. Look for the famous'imposters\\\' in Park Rosendael! Stop along the way at Restaurant Houtplaats for a snack or a drink, beautifully situated at the foot of the Posbank.
