Enjoy Geldermalsen and its surroundings

This route takes you through Geldermalsen and its natural surroundings. You'll pass the Neerijnen Estate, among other places. Enjoy a breath of fresh air on the dike along the Waal River.

Neerijnen Estate
On the fourteenth-century Neerijnen Estate stands a country house built around 1600. Further on, you'll pass several old farms and a beautiful church from 1865. The small stream you'll pass here is called De Kil: it's an old riverbed lined with willow groves.

Orchards
Cycling along the dike along the Waal River is wonderful, enjoying the panoramic views of the water, the orchards, and the floodplains. The kilometers seem to pass by effortlessly here. This region is dotted with beautiful old farmhouses. In Varik, you'll find De Bol, a beautiful grain mill dating from 1867. In Geldermalsen, you'll pass De Bouwing, a grain mill dating from 1848.
