Enjoy Geldermalsen and surroundings

This route takes you through Geldermalsen and the natural countryside. You will pass Neerijnen Estate, among other things. You can get a breath of fresh air on the dike along the Waal.

Neerijnen estate
There is a country house on the fourteenth-century Neerijnen Estate that was built around 1600. Further on you pass some old farms and a beautiful church from 1865. The small water you drive along here is called De Kil: it is an old river course that is lined with willow banks.

Fruit orchards
It is wonderful to cycle on the dike along the Waal, while enjoying the views over the water, the fruit orchards and the floodplains. The kilometers seem to pass by themselves here. In this region you will see beautiful old farms. In Varik you will find De Bol, a beautiful flour mill from 1867. In Geldermalsen you will pass De Bouwing, a flour mill from 1848.
