Walking through the Renkums Beekdal

The route starts at Restaurant Campman. From here you can walk straight into the forests of the Renkums Beekdal. This hilly area forms a connecting zone between the Rhine and the Veluwe. The wheels of water mills once turned here to make grain, rapeseed oil and paper. Now you walk along babbling streams, wet grasslands and through dense forests. What a silence you experience here! Ideal to recharge the battery. You pass the Organic Vineyard Wageningse Berg. It is the first organic vineyard in the Netherlands. The first vines were planted in this vineyard in 1998. Further on you will pass a striking water tower from 1948. Its predecessor was destroyed in 1944 because it was used as a watchtower over the Rhine. After your walk, enjoy the natural beauty on the terrace of Restaurant Campman while enjoying a drink and a snack.
