Description
Ready for a nice walk through the Brabant countryside? Then walk this route through Oirschot and two beautiful nearby nature reserves.
Valley of the Beerze
You also look out for a while at swampy meadows that are allowed to flood. What a wonderful rugged landscape! And a refreshing silence! Just before Spoordonk you pass the Spoordonkse Watermolen from 1868. What a picture!
The Mortals
It is not without reason that Oirschot enjoys a protected village view. You see many beautiful buildings. Such as the centuries-old Town Hall and the sixteenth-century St. Peter's Basilica. Just outside the village you pass the Korenaar, a flour mill from 1857. A little later you walk into the Mortelen: a small-scale bocage landscape of poplar groves, coniferous forests and grass and arable land. The landscape is reminiscent of the rural countryside of Brabant before the land consolidations.
