Cycling through Den Bosch and the surrounding area

Enjoy a coffee at Herberg de Zwaan so that you can get on the saddle with enough energy. It is wonderful to cycle along the Maas through the flowery floodplains. First you pass through Ammerzoden. Just past Bern you cross the Maas on a ferry, always a fun nostalgic crossing. Further on you drive along the Engelermeer. This lake is probably the remains of an old channel of the Meuse from before the thirteenth century. In Den Bosch you drive a bit along the quay along the Dommel. You will see plenty of beautiful buildings here. Just outside the city center you drive over the English Dijk through the French Wheels. Further on you will see Meerwijk Castle, a country house in Tudor style. Back in Hedel it is time for something tasty at Herberg de Zwaan.
