This route takes you through the hills near Gulpen. A walk full of panoramas, natural beauty and characteristic Limburg farms.

Gulpen
The route starts in the village of Elkenrade. From here you walk into the Eyserbos. How wonderfully quiet it is here! A little later you cross the Geul to Gulpen. You pass the striking church tower to which the St. Peter's Church was once attached. The church tower dates from the thirteenth century and originally served as a defensive structure. Then you walk through the meadows and forests to Wijlre.

In Wijlre you will pass the Sint-Gertrudiskerk from 1839 and the Brandbrouwerij, the oldest in the Netherlands. Wijlre Castle was built around 1625, the castle is not accessible. Eat or drink something at Brasserie Amuseer in Wijlre, it's time for a drink on the terrace! Further on you walk through the Geuldal, one of the most beautiful stream valleys in the Netherlands. On a car-free road you walk back to your starting point, overlooking meadows and wooded slopes.
