Walking over the Sint Jansberg and the Mookerheide

It is not only in the south of Limburg that you will find a lovely rolling landscape. It is also wonderful to walk in the northern tip around the village of Mook. You start this route at the Dolfijn walking and cycling terrace. You walk along the dike past the Mookerplas. In the countryside you look out over the rippling water, the fields and the forests on the horizon. Just past Riethorst you walk into the woods on the Sint Jansberg. You pass the place where the remains of a Roman villa were discovered in 1931. The foundations have been partly rebuilt. A little further on you will see the Bovenste Plasmolen, a water mill from 1725. Paper used to be made here. You walk through the forest to the rolling Mookerheide, where you have beautiful views of the area.
