From Voorthuizen through the Gelderse Vallei

Your route starts at Lounge 3. In the Gelderse Vallei, fields, streams and grasslands alternate. Along the road you regularly see an old characteristic farm. The kilometers seem to pass by themselves here, the landscape is so peaceful and beautiful. On the edge of Kootwijkerbroek you pass the Puurveense Mill. This beautiful flour mill burned down in 1964, but was rebuilt in 2016. Just past Harskamp later you pass the Lana Mariana, a flour mill from 1739 of which no one knows the origin of the striking, almost romantic-sounding name. The mill is now used as a home. Just past Otterlo you cycle into the Roekelse Bos, on the Vijfsprongweg you cycle along the shady edge of the forest while looking out over the fields. What a change!
