Ready for a day of cycling through vast nature reserves and charming villages? Then take this route from Oirschot. Variety is key!
Old Tower. From the starting point, you'll drive straight into the Kampina and the adjacent Oisterwijkse Vennen. Two expansive nature reserves where you can fully enjoy the heathland and forests. After crossing the Essche Stroom, you'll pass Nemerlaer Castle. In Haaren, you'll see not only local farms but also the Old Tower, dating from 1427. The accompanying church collapsed in 1780.
Oisterwijk was granted city rights as early as the thirteenth century. Its rich history is evident as you cycle through De Lind, the old market town, which has protected townscape status. It boasts beautiful mansions and a magnificent town hall dating from 1899. Moergestel is a village where you can still experience the characteristic Brabant charm. Further on, you cycle along the Wilhelmina Canal through the woods of the De Baest estate. Brabant is truly beautiful!
