Walking through Velp and the Veluwezoom

Velp is a beautiful town that is excellently explored on foot. In the countryside you can walk through the forests on the edge of the Veluwezoom.

Best terrace
The route starts at Buitenplaats Beekhuizen. From here you can already look out on your first attraction: Rosendael Castle. Of the fourteenth-century castle, only the large round tower remains, the rest of the building dates from 1616. In the castle you can see how the nobility used to live. You can also visit the monumental castle park.

Castle Biljoen
In Velp you walk through the idyllic Villapark Overbeek that enjoys a protected village view. You also pass the monumental Van Lennepsmolen. Kasteel Biljoen was built around 1530 by Karel van Gelre, the Duke of Gelre. Louis the Fourteenth of France, among others, lived in this castle. Then you walk a few kilometers through the rolling forests on the edge of the Veluwe. How wonderfully quiet it is here!
