Walking through Velp and the Veluwezoom

Velp is a beautiful town that is excellent to explore on foot. In the countryside you can walk through the woods on the edge of the Veluwezoom.

Best terrace
The route starts at Buitenplaats Beekhuizen. From here you can already look out on your first sight: Rosendael Castle. Only the large round tower remains of the fourteenth-century castle, the rest of the building dates from 1616. In the castle you can see how the nobility used to live. You can also visit the monumental castle park.

Billion Castle
In Velp you walk through the idyllic Villa Park Overbeek, which enjoys a protected village view. You will also pass the monumental Van Lenneps mill. Biljoen Castle was built around 1530 by Karel van Gelre, the Duke of Gelre. Louis the Fourteenth of France, among others, lived in this castle. Then you walk a few kilometers through the rolling forests on the edge of the Veluwe. How wonderfully peaceful it is here!
