Description
Neer is located on the Limburg Meuse. Put on your hiking boots and discover the charm of this village. You will also pass through Nunhem, Buggenum and the floodplains along the Maas.
Neerbeek
The route starts at Café Manuslust Biej Mieke. First grab a terrace before you walk into the countryside. At junction 11 you pass a chapel from 1711. Further on you cross the Neerbeek. A beautiful spot, it is not for nothing that the Nienghoor hunting lodge once stood nearby. The monumental outbuildings are still there. You walk along the Haelensche Beek to the village of Nunhem.
Flowery floodplains
You walk past Buggenum through the fields and fields. From the footpath between the meadows you can clearly see the Sint-Aldegundiskerk coming closer. Further down the Dorpsstraat you can see a few eighteenth-century houses. The flowery floodplains along the Maas make for a wonderful walk. How wonderfully quiet it is here! Back in Neer you pass the Friedesse Molen, a water mill that was built in 1717 for grinding corn. What a picture!
