Walking through the Botshol and Baambrugge

Put on your hiking boots for an unforgettable beautiful day. The Botshol consists of an abandoned peat area with large lakes, ditches, reed land and swamp forest. You can also spot many birds and orchids. It is wonderfully quiet. Fort de Botshol was never completed: you only see an elevation in the landscape, bunkers were never built. You have beautiful views over the dikes along the Oude Wavre, Wavre and the Holendrecht. You also regularly pass a beautiful old farmhouse. You will see Baambrugge appear on the horizon. This village has a wonderful historic atmosphere thanks to the many monumental buildings.
