Rhenen is a beautiful old town along the Lower Rhine. Lace up your hiking boots and discover how wonderful it is to walk here.
Lower Rhine. From here, you can walk straight into Rhenen, a town granted city rights as early as 1258. It's a lovely, peaceful stroll here, with some streets adorned with numerous trees and flower-filled front gardens. Strolling along the Lower Rhine, you'll experience plenty of peace and tranquility.
Thymse Berg. From the Rijnkade, you can see the Cunerakerk (Cunera Church), towering over 80 meters high. You walk a bit further through Rhenen, where you'll see the former water tower from 1935. The building, over forty meters tall, is now occupied. A little later, you'll walk a bit through the woods on Thymse Berg. This hill, with a summit almost 50 meters high, is part of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug (Utrecht Ridge).
