Lower Rhine
You start this route at Allurepark De Thijmse Berg, a beautiful place to stay in the middle of the woods near Rhenen. From here you can walk straight into Rhenen, a town that received city rights as early as 1258. It is nice and quiet to walk here, some streets are adorned by the many trees and flowery front gardens. Walking along the Nederrijn you will experience plenty of peace and space.
Thymse Berg
From the Rijnkade you can see the more than 80 meters high tower of the Cunerakerk. You walk a bit through Rhenen where you see the former water tower from 1935. The more than forty meters high building is now inhabited. A little later you walk a bit through the forest on the Thymse Berg. This hill has a top that is almost 50 meters high and belongs to the Utrechtse Heuvelrug.
