Delft is a true cycling gem. In the cozy city center you will be amazed at so much cultural history. In the countryside it is nice and quiet to drive through the wide and natural polders.
Picturesque Delft
You start the route at Hotel Delft Centre. From this comfortable guest address you can cycle straight into the old center of Delft with its old canals, monumental buildings and characteristic atmosphere. You will pass the fourteenth-century New Church with the tomb of William of Orange, a well-known attraction. Just like the Nieuwe Steen from 1620, the town hall built around the Oude Steen, a tower that is the oldest building in Delft.
Wide polders
Delft is more than beautiful historical monuments. You leave the city via the green and water-rich Delftse Hout. A little later you drive into the woods and wet meadows of the adjacent Bieslandpolder. The water from this polder was once used by Delft breweries, later the peat from this area disappeared into stoves. Around Pijnacker you cycle through vast polders with a few wooded areas. What peace you experience here!
