Walking from Wessem to Thorn

The route starts at Gasterie De Knip. First grab a terrace on the Maas to enjoy a local delicacy at your leisure. Then you walk into Wessem, the old town that enjoys a protected cityscape because of its many beautiful monumental buildings. What a nice historical atmosphere you experience here! For example, you pass the Sint-Medarduskerk, which originally dates from 946. In the outlying area you walk along the estates of De Grote Hegge, an old manor farm. You can also walk a bit along the banks of the Maasplassen. In picturesque Thorn, most old houses have a white facade, what an idyllic atmosphere you will find here. One of Thorn's eye-catchers is St. Michael's Church, large parts of which date from the fourteenth century.
