Walking from Wessem to Thorn

The route starts at Gasterie De Knip. First grab a terrace on the Maas to enjoy a local delicacy at your leisure. Then you walk into Wessem, the old town that enjoys a protected cityscape because of its many beautiful monumental buildings. What a nice historic atmosphere you experience here! For example, you pass the St. Medardus Church, which originally dates from 946. In the countryside you walk past the farmlands of De Grote Hegge, an old manor. You can also walk a bit along the banks of the Maasplassen. In picturesque Thorn, most old houses have a white facade, what an idyllic atmosphere you will find here. One of the eye-catchers of Thorn is St. Michael's Church, large parts of which date from the fourteenth century.
