A tour of Rhenen, Wageningen and Kesteren

Between Rhenen, Wageningen and Kesteren you cycle through a landscape of fruit orchards, rugged floodplains and vast grasslands. An ideal route to relax for a while.

Hemmen Castle Garden

Along the road you will see the many fruit orchards for which this region is so famous. It produces beautiful pictures, especially when the trees are in bloom. Further on you can visit the Hemmen Castle Garden. This classically decorated and walled garden dates from 1832. The accompanying country house was destroyed in a bombing in 1945.

Grebbeberg
You can cross the Lower Rhine with a ferry. From the Grebbedijk just below Wageningen you have a beautiful view of the floodplains. In the polder it is nice and quiet to cycle on car-free, tree-lined roads. In the distance you can see the wooded Grebbeberg. You cross the Lower Rhine via a bridge. You have a beautiful view, in the distance you can see the more than 80 meter high tower of the Cunera Church in Rhenen.
