From Sint-Oedenrode into the Meierij

Sint-Oedenrode is a cozy old village in the heart of the Meierij of 's-Hertogenbosch. An ideal base for beautiful cycling trips in plenty of natural beauty.

Dommeldal
You cycle through the wooded countryside to Liempde. In the Dorpsstraat you will find a wonderful atmosphere, it seems as if time has stood still here. Just before Kasteren you cross the Dommel, a winding river that eventually flows into Den Bosch.

Poplar landscape
You regularly pass old farms and chapels. In addition to forests, you will also find a mosaic of streams, flowery grasslands, hedgerows and agricultural lands in the Meierij. It's so nice and quiet to cycle here! Poplars often grow along the winding roads. These trees were mainly planted in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The wood from the poplars was sold to the local clog and match factories.
