The route starts at De Helden van Kien, a cozy catering pavilion in the beautiful De Kienehoef park. Enjoy something tasty here before you drive into the Meierij. You cycle through a small-scale landscape of nature, estates and agricultural land. Poplars often grow along the roads. These trees were mainly planted in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The wood from the poplars was sold to the local clog and match factories. There is also no shortage of cultural history. In Maaskantje you can see De Pelikaan. On the edge of Halder you have a beautiful view of the Dommel and Nieuw-Herlaer, a centuries-old castle on the other side. You also cross the Dommel again in Sint-Michielsgestel. You will see, among other things, a free-standing tower, the remains of a fifteenth-century church.
