The Zoom
After boarding the bike, you'll soon cycle through the Zoomland Estate. Once a vast swamp, it's now a damp forest crisscrossed by ancient lanes. It's wonderfully peaceful here; you almost forget Bergen op Zoom is so close. A little later, you'll cycle past Anton van Duinkerken Park, laid out in the English landscape style, in the city center. On the right of the road flows the Zoom River, a former peat canal that is now an ecological corridor.

Lievensberg Estate
In the city center, you'll pass the fourteenth-century Gevangenpoort (Prison Gate), the only remaining city gate in Bergen op Zoom. Further on, you'll pass Kijk in de Pot, the former fortress and barracks now a beautiful city park. Along the Binnenschelde, which was once part of the Oosterschelde, you can enjoy a coffee and a treat at Het Strandhuys. You'll then cycle back to your starting point through the deciduous and coniferous forests of the Lievensberg Estate.
