peel
At Brasserie Jan van Tieskes you can enjoy a coffee and a tasty meal on the cozy terrace before you walk into Someren-Eind. This mining village was established in the mid-nineteenth century. The entire Peel (approximately 30,000 hectares) once consisted of uncultivated land. Now you walk between fields, grasslands and small-scale forest. Ideal for forgetting the everyday routine. And to catch up with your fellow hikers.
White Mountains
You will also walk through the White Mountains. This name refers to the vast sand drifts that this nature reserve once was. Around 1925, production forests were planted here in the context of job creation. It is wonderful to walk here among the fragrant pine trees. On the banks of the pond you can comfortably look out over the rippling water. The pond was created in the 1960s, after sand was excavated for the construction of a provincial road.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
