Relaxing walks around Markelo

The area around Markelo is wonderful for walking. Enjoy the peace and space in the coulisse landscape that Twente is so famous for. First, you walk through Markelo. In this beautiful town, you will see the Martinus Church from 1840. De Hoop is a corn mill from 1839. In the countryside, you walk over De Hulpe, a 40-metre high moraine. There is a replica of an old chapel here. Between the fields and meadows, you walk to Stokkum. This town enjoys a protected village view, you will see several old characteristic farms. Along the Schipbeek, you walk to the Kattenberg, the second moraine on your route. Finally, you walk through the forest on the Markeloseberg. Time for a drink on the terrace at Grand Cafe De Kroon.
