Description
This route takes you from the ancient Liesbos to nature reserve De Pannenhoef. A beautiful route through the countryside and the Princenhage district of Breda.
The Pannenhoef
In the Brabant countryside it is wonderful to make miles. You cycle between fields, grasslands and bushes. Occasionally you see a characteristic old farmhouse. The Pannenhoef looked like the Peel in the east of Brabant centuries ago. Now there is a beautiful nature reserve of woods, fens and flowery meadows.
Picturesque Princenhage
Further on you drive through De Vloeiweide, a special and varied nature reserve that originated from a former irrigation system for agriculture. A little later you cycle into Princenhage. The beautiful monuments in the Dreef and the Haagsemarkt clearly show that this district used to be a village. The former town hall dates back to 1792. The last part you cycle over an ancient lane in the Liesbos, the largest old pedunculate oak forest in the Netherlands.
