On the road through the Kempen-Broek border park

On the border of Belgian Limburg, Dutch Limburg and North Brabant you will find the Kempen-Broek nature park. Take a trip here and enjoy nature that does not care about national borders. This walk takes you through the Mariahof - De Luysen nature reserve.

Water-rich nature
The route takes you via two detours through the lush forests of the Kempen-Broek nature park. You first walk a bit through the forests on the Dutch side of the border and then you enter Belgium. Here you will find, among other things, the Mariahof - De Luysen nature reserve, a pond area of approximately 40 hectares. This area is a true paradise for birds and so it is also the place to be if you like bird watching. There are three observation huts here where bird lovers can go. The Abeek flows right through this water-rich nature reserve.

New Vosseven
At the end of your trip you will arrive at the restaurant Nieuw Vosseven Natuurlijkgelegen. This cozy spot is hidden in the forests of the nature reserve Stramprooise Heide. Sit down here to rest while enjoying lunch, dinner or a cup of coffee with something tasty.

The Stramprooise Heide
To the west of Stramproy you will find the Stramprooise Heide. This area consists of a number of scattered areas that together form a nature reserve of approximately 32 hectares. The area consists of a former heath and drift sand area that is planted with Scots pines. Here and there you will still find small remnants of the heathlands.
