Description
This route takes you through the rural area just below Schijndel. Put on your walking shoes and discover the scenic landscape of the Rooise and Schijndelse Heide.
German Line
Here you walk through a scenic landscape of small-scale forests and fields and meadows. You regularly walk on unpaved roads where you can enjoy the beautiful surroundings without any worries. At junction 15 you cross the Indische Lijntje, the former railway line between Boxtel and Wesel, Germany.
Schijndelse Heide
Most of your walk will take you across the Rooise and Schijndelse Heide, a former heathland area. You can recognize the mining history by the straight roads and plots. It is wonderfully peaceful to walk here. Ideal to recharge the proverbial battery and catch up with your fellow hikers. At junction 41 you pass a monumental Kempen long-facade farmhouse from the nineteenth century. What a beautiful region!
