Pannenhoef
The route starts in the Pannenhoef nature reserve. As many as 706 hectares of heathland, marshland and fens, created by the extraction of peat. For three centuries, people left their mark on the environment in this way, but now it is nature's turn. Via Sprundel you drive to Bosschenhoofd where you will find Café Eeterij Stroop: just in time for lunch! A little later you drive straight through the Rucphense Bossen. What a wonderfully varied route.
Van Gogh
Further on you will see the impressive Maria Toevlucht Abbey. The monastery takes its name from its original function: during the French Revolution it was a refuge for monks. Delicious Trappist beer has also been made here for a few years now. On the same road you will see another historic spot: De Moeren country house, a stately country house from 1544. The estate inspired Vincent van Gogh, among others, who made his first drawings here. This way you discover something else!
