The Achterhoek is beautifully authentic, a beautiful region to cycle through for a day past castles and old farms. Along the way you can enjoy the greenery and the nice villages. A wonderful day out! After a cup of coffee on the beautiful terrace of Café Restaurant Florijn, you cycle to Museum Farm Erve Brooks and Den Bramel Castle. In picturesque Vorden you can enjoy the characteristic atmosphere. You can see here, among other things, the village church, which originally dates from the thirteenth century. Vorden is a real castle village. Further on you will pass Huis Kieftskamp, a country residence dating from 1776. A little further on, in the hamlet of Linde, you will see the nineteenth-century mill Ons Belang, where the miller regularly gives guided tours. You cycle back to your starting point via the outskirts of Ruurlo and Borculo.

Molen Ons Belang

Ons Belang

The Ons Belang mill is located in the hamlet of Linde between Vorden and Zelhem. This mill was built here in 1890 as a replacement for a flour mill built in 1856 that was destroyed by fire. The mill has been restored several times over the years. The mill is still capable of turning, but no more milling is done with the mill. Nowadays you can find a studio and theater space on the ground floor of the mill. Guided tours of the mill are regularly given by the miller.
