Description
A wonderfully rural route along windmills and villages, between Veerse Meer and Westerschelde. Enjoy the wild flowers on the dike along the way - best seen from the bike!
The Pete
This route starts just outside Arnemuiden. From here you can make a nice trip to the Zak van Zuid-Beveland, known for its dikes covered with wild flowers. First you pass through the woods of De Piet, on the edge of the Veerse Meer. After you have passed the monumental lock at Sluis de Piet, you drive into the vast polder. Further on you pass the Nooit Gedacht, a flour mill from 1872.

Via Heinkenszand you cycle into the Zak van Zuid-Beveland. Here you can see beautiful flower dikes, part of the authentic cultural landscape of this region. Experience the summer scents and colors of agrimoni, field or wild marjoram. At Borssele you can still see a beautiful windmill, Hope and Expectation from 1714.
