The Pocket of South Beveland from Arnemuiden

A lovely rural route along mills and villages, between Veerse Meer and Westerschelde. Enjoy the wild flowers on the dike along the way - best seen from the bike! This route starts just outside Arnemuiden. From here you make a beautiful trip to the Zak van Zuid-Beveland, known for its dikes covered with wild flowers. First you come through the forests of De Piet, on the edge of the Veerse Meer. After you have passed the monumental lock at Sluis de Piet, you cycle into the vast polder. Further on you come along the Nooit Gedacht, a corn mill from 1872. Via Heinkenszand you cycle into the Zak van Zuid-Beveland. Here you see beautiful flower dikes, part of the authentic cultural landscape of this region. Take a break along the way at Schaapskooi Zeeland!
