Overijssel Fight
Tree trunk restaurant Het Heemse is a nice starting point for your discovery of the Overijssels Vechtdal. This special restaurant is almost entirely made of tree trunks. After a cup of coffee on the sunny terrace, you follow the winding Overijsselse Vecht all the way to Ommen and back. This is a beautiful stream valley, with picturesque villages, extensive estates, dense forests and wide heaths. You really feel like you are stepping back in time here.
The Laer
With this route you will pass beautiful places, such as Het Laer. This used to be a castle; the surrounding canals and the old forests have fortunately been preserved. After a number of sieges, renovations and acquisitions, the estate has grown into a beautifully restored manor house. The center of Ommen is also worth exploring, this bustling old Hanseatic city has a rich history. What a beautiful route!
