De Liemers is a wonderful cycling region. Enjoy ancient villages and small-scale landscapes: authenticity is of paramount importance here.
St. Gallus Church
In the countryside it is wonderful to rack up the miles while driving on car-free roads between meadows and fields. You pass the Bernadette flour mill from 1861. In Angerlo you pass the St. Gallus Church, which originally dates from the twelfth century. What a picture!
Hail cross
After a beautiful meander through the idyllic scenic landscape, you will pass Havezate De Luynhorst on the edge of Didam. There was a country house here as early as the fourteenth century. The current building looks more like a farm than a country estate. Just past junction 44 in Kilder you will pass a hail cross: an old Catholic custom to ward off evil spirits so that crops are not damaged by hail.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
