Description

After lunch at Brasserie Boschdal you can cycle straight into nature. First you drive to the Liesbos. This forest was in the possession of the Counts of Nassau, the ancestors of the royal family, for centuries. They mainly used the forest for hunting. A little further on you cycle through the Vloeiweide, an estate where it is so quiet that you can spot deer during the day. In the almost adjacent Pannenhoef, plenty of peat was extracted from the fourteenth to the seventeenth century. Now there is a nature reserve with forest and flowery meadows. In Etten you will see some beautiful monuments on the Markt, such as the Town Hall from 1776. Just past junction 1 you finally drive over the Haagse Dijk, a beautiful path through the former peat area.
