Cycling through Etten and the forests

After a lunch at Brasserie Boschdal, you can cycle straight into nature. First, you cycle to the Liesbos. This forest was owned for centuries by the Counts of Nassau, the ancestors of the royal family. They mainly used the forest for hunting. A little further on, you cycle through the Vloeiweide, an estate that is so quiet that you can spot deer during the day. In the almost adjacent Pannenhoef, peat was extracted from the fourteenth to the seventeenth century. Now there is a nature reserve with forest and flower-filled meadows. In Etten, you can see several beautiful monuments on the Markt, such as the Town Hall from 1776. Just past junction 1, you finally cycle over the Haagse Dijk, a beautiful path through the former peat area.
