Description

The rolling surroundings of the Limburg village of Spaubeek are perfectly suited for a walking tour. Put on your walking shoes for a route full of beautiful views, natural beauty, and heritage. You start the route at Eetcafe Spech in Spaubeek with a cup of coffee. South of Spaubeek, you walk between grasslands and orchards. Here, you can fully enjoy the beautiful views. You pass Huis Ten Dijcken, a country estate built around 1600, hidden among Canadian poplars and pollard willows. Further on, in Oude Kerk, stands an eighteenth-century farmhouse, and at the end of the street, you see the St. Anna Chapel from 1865. You cross the Geleenbeek, after which you make a climb into the Stammenderbos. Black alder and ash grow along the stream, while higher up you see beech and oak trees.
