Walking through the polders at Oostburg

Soon you walk into the countryside. The road on which you walk to Zuidzande was part of the Line of Oostburg during the Eighty Years' War. At that time, the Hans Vriezeschans was located at the current Oostburgsche Brug. You can see a remnant of this on the road. Then you arrive in Zuidzande. It's hard to imagine, but this village was once an island. It was reclaimed in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. You walk back into Oostburg via the Mosterdweg. Time to relax!
