Description

This cycle route through the wooded area of the stream valley of the river Aa starts from Natuurpoort Kasteel Heeswijk . The castle has been there for about 1000 years, for a long time as an impregnable fortress on the Aa, in the middle of marshes. The kingfisher is a regular guest at the castle moat. Feed the castle carp and black swans, the castle shop has special food for them. Brasserie Het Koetshuis is an ideal starting, resting and/or ending point.

Heeswijk Castle reflects almost a thousand years of power, pride and culture of the Brabant elite. The top monument looks majestic in the beautiful surroundings of the basin of the Aa and Leijgraaf. Brasserie the Koetshuis
In'Brasserie het Koetshuis\\\', with a beautiful terrace within the walls of the castle, you can enjoy a delicious brunch, lunch, high tea, barbecue or dinner. The Brasserie is part of the Coach House, which is several centuries younger than the medieval part of the castle. In the last decades of the last century, this part was the residence of the baroness. The apple pie is said to be the best in Brabant.
