Huis Vechtestein is a country estate located near the river Vecht. The manor was demolished in the 19th century, but the 18th century garden house of this manor can still be found here.

Huis ten Bosch, also known as Het Huys ten Bosch, is a 17th-century country house on the river Vecht in the village of Maarssen. In the 20th century it functioned for a while as a town hall and it was recognized as a national monument.

Huis Vechtoever is a country estate on the river Vecht in Maarssen. The current main building was built in the 18th century. In the 19th century, this building was further expanded into the current house.

Ridderhofstad Gunterstein was built in 1680 on the ruins of a medieval castle from 1300 that was demolished in 1511 to use the stones for something else. At the same time as construction, a park was created next to the house, which was partly turned into an English landscape park in the 19th century. The entire site is no less than 115 hectares. Walk on the winding paths between ancient trees and enjoy the view of the house via the Lange Lindelaan.

In the Green Heart of Holland, the open area between the major cities of the Randstad, lies the originally medieval Nederhorst den Berg castle, with its majestic Louis XIV entrance gate. An engraving shows what the imposing fence, with a fence at the jetty in front of it, must have looked like in the mid-18th century.

This special restaurant is located on the Vecht with a great view of Torenfort Uitermeer. Special because of the location, but especially because of the homemade apple pie! An ideal stop on the way for a walk, bicycle or boat trip.
